Week 10 Notes
(School/Coach Items in Red)
New Rules Information
-
We will not have a Spring Coach's Meeting to review new rules. When the
new rules are announced in February, we will forward the email to everyone.
Contact us if you have any questions at that time.
-
We will have a PowerPoint New Rules Coach's Meeting in August of 2008.
Schools who attend this meeting will have their scrimmages posted on Arbiter
for officials to work.
Spring Meetings
-
There will be Spring Football Official Meetings on Tuesdays. The actual
dates and location will be announced soon. These meetings will have the
following benefits:
-
Game film from the 2007 season. We plan to show film on all 24 crews.
Here's the opportunity to learn something new and see how you actually
look on the field. (I will be calling schools
at the end of the season for help on game tapes)
-
I am offering something new this year. Attend two Spring Meetings and
get credit for one make up meeting for the 2008 season. Attend four
Spring Meetings and get credit for two make up meetings for the 2008
season.
Official's Names
-
It is a good idea to give both head coaches a card with the names of the
crew on it. It is a little thing that will be appreciated by the coaches.
Thank you for
your cooperation this season. I hope these Weekly Notes have been beneficial to
you. Our goal is to keep the lines of communication open to help schools as well
as officials. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see added to
our association.
Good luck to
those of you in the play-offs. We are hopeful that Orange County teams take as
many spots in the finals as possible.
Respectfully,
Paul Caldera,
Instructional Chairman
Orange County
Football Officials Association
