Week 9 Notes
(School/Coach Items in Red)
Chain Crew
- It is strongly recommended
that female students not work the chain crew if the chain crew is to operate
on the visitor’s sidelines. We are saddened to report that in an afternoon
game, a school could not control their team which led to
problems involving a female chain crew member.
Ratings
- Larry Diel is finalizing the
play-off ratings list. Results will be emailed later this week.
- Ratings will continue this
week. These ratings will count toward crew ratings for the 2008 season.
Penalty
Enforcements
- The question that is floating
around is, “Where do you march from to enforce a penalty?” This is not
directly covered in our books but it does make a difference for coaches to
select their next offensive play. You may end up on the wrong hash mark.
Remember the following:
- The book does state
“enforcement spots”. Walk from the enforcement “spot”.
- Previous “Spot”
- End of the Run
- “Spot” of the Foul
(This might put the ball on the opposite hash)
- Succeeding Spot
Adornments
- This is the ninth week of the
season and we are still seeing pictures in the papers of players wearing the
illegal uniform adornments (Arm Bands). We need to have consistent
enforcement of the rules.
Let’s finish strong this week!
