Interested in becoming a football
official?
The OCFOA is actively seeking new applicants for membership to begin training for football officiating assignments in 2009.
There are no specific requirements for becoming a member of OCFOA, other than an appreciation of the game of football, a desire to learn the officiating profession and an interest in helping youth of all ages.
New members are required to attend six of our meetings starting in August and going through November on Wednesday nights and for a half-day clinic the week prior to Labor Day or Labor Day Saturday weekend (traditionally).
Members who participate in the training classes will be eligible to officiate youth league and sub-varsity high school games in 2009. As new members gain experience, they will be assigned to high school varsity games at various levels.
There is currently a $125 registration fee for for returning members for the 2009 season. Rookie and 2nd year officials will only pay a $100 registration fee. Fees include materials, assignment fees, and membership to USA FOOTBALL. To become a member, please contact Deryl Dyson to obtain and complete a membership application and mail it along with the $125 fee to the Secretary/Treasurer: Larry Clanton.
